I'm surprised this got a DD. It's quite offensive, and in my opinion, potentially harmful. I am aware that drug abuse is a factor in many suicides, but it seems the point of your piece is to trivialize suicide and even promote it in those who have substance abuse problems. Your art skills are quite good, so, why don't you take some time to learn some facts about substance abuse and suicide instead?
I love it really, great piece of typo. I just didn't get what 'THAT' meant until I read your description. I don't think that's a good thing with an art piece. Unless of course you meant it to stay open, and everyone could just insert their own 'THAT' in the sentence.
But obviously you didn't mean it to be that way, as you provided a description
Actually, a better comment, because in all honesty my previous one wasn't. I don't have a problem with this image because my opinion on drugs differs with yours; I have a problem with this image because I find that any message that questions something fully and without looking back is very poorly thought out. Nothing is that black and white, and I don't want to embrace this message no matter what "that" is defined as. I question how thorough your ideology really is.
Why do some of you keep talking about music and art for like it was drugs that made then do great things. Drugs had nothing to do with it. If it did than everyone that did drugs would be great. These people did drugs to get away from who they was and you people act like they was doing it to be great. Drugs never made anyone great. people have the ability to be great themselves. You cant use the few people that made it big while on drugs as an excuse to do it yourself. The fact that most of the people your talking about never lived a happy life and most died in a bad way i would think should tell you something about drugs but i guess this goes to prove you would trade some money for your own happiness. Which is sad since drugs isn't what made then great. Most of you really need to grow up.
i 100% agree with zombieshark. i am with zombieshark, word for word. i couldnt have put it better myself. the sentiment is VERY close minded and may make people who do use drugs feel bad about themselves when they are doing nothing wrong. its funny how the word 'drug' is seen as bad, and 'medicine' is seen as good, when they are the exact same thing. why cant we open our minds to new things and stop absorbing all the propaganda thats fed to us through the media! think for yourselves! question authority!
and yes, great artwork. i really really like it but when i found out what 'they' was i was really disappointed. oh well. i guess its my opinion, not yours.
